CA members from the far-western region expression dissatisfaction for alloting less budget to the region

Constituent Assembly (CA) members elected from the Far Western Region have expressed dissatisfaction with the government for alloting less budget to the region. The CA members have sent a memorandum to Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal through the regional administration office lamenting the government had ignored the region, already backward due to the ignorance of the state, by alloting a small proportion of the budget and urged the PM to review the budget CA members of the parties in the government including NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, home minister and UML leader Bhim Rawal have also signed the memorandum. Businessmen, civil society members and people of other walks of life from the far western region have also backed the CA members' move. The government has alloted only 8.23 percent of the budget for far-western region.

AISC secretariat members in Shaktikhor to seek combatants’ opinion on integration

Dec - 26 A team of Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) Secretariat has gone to Shaktikhor, Chitwan to seek opinion of former combatants of the UCPN (Maoist) affiliated People's Liberation Army (PLA) on army integration and rehabilitation.

Regular House session from Jan 9

President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has called the regular session of the legislature-parliament from January 9. The President summoned the parliament Monday as per the recommendation made by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal. Earlier today, PM Nepal met the President at Shital Niwas and handed over the recommendation. The Prime Minister made the recommendation for the session following separate meetings of major three parties. Both the meetings had ended inconclusively

Dailekh woman gives birth to a baby with two heads

A woman of Bhairikalikathum VDC-9 in Dailekh district has borne a baby having two heads, RSS reports. Bishnukala Nepali, 37, gave birth to a female child having two heads on the way to the local Balekanda sub-health post on Sunday noon following the labor pain, said local Bakhat Khatri. The report didn't mention the condition of the mother and her new born baby. Details are awaited --

State minister Sah sacked

State Minister for Physical Planning and Works Sanjaya Kumar Sah has been sacked by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at the recommendation of Sah's mother party Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Loktantrik (MJF-L). Sah had exercised to split the party by forming a separate group within the party.

UML CA member killed in road accident

Kathmandu- Dec, 26  A UML Constituent Assembly (CA) member was killed in a road accident in Bhaktapur last night. Dambar Bahadur Khadka, CA member elected from Sankhuwasabha electoral constituency no. 2 representing UML, was killed when a passenger bus numbered Ba 1 Kha 6465 hit the motorcycle numbered Ba 38 Pa 9109 he was riding in Kaushaltar, Saturday night.
