Unified CPN (Maoist) politburo member and in charge of international department Krishna Bahadur Mahara is likely to become the next Prime Minister of Nepal, this scribe has learnt. Mahara has been put forward as a candidate for the next PM after consensus could not be forged in the names of incumbent PM Madhav Kumar Nepal, Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and vice chairman Babu Ram Bhattarai. Talks on a suitable alternative was on after the mentioned candidates had one or the other problem to become the PM. Maoists have a problem with PM Nepal continuing in the position. For chairman Dahal, there is no support from anywhere else other than his party. Nepal's influential southern neighbour does not want Dahal to become the PM.
