Trishuli Rafting Festival Kicks Off

A rafting festival organised by a UML sub-ordinate committee to promote Nepal Tourism Year 2011 has kicked off Saturday morning. Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal, also the chairman of Nepal Tourism Council, saw off a team of UML leaders participating in the festival from the premises of Nepal Scouts in Lainchaur this morning.

IC worth NRs 19 billion withdrawn through ATMs in five months

Indian Currency (IC) worth more than NRs 19 billion was withdrawn from accounts in Nepali banks through various ATMs in India in the first five months of the current fiscal year, Nagarik daily reported quoting Nepal Rastra Bank officials. The amount is more than four times withdrawn the same way in the first five months of the previous fiscal year.

Industrialist Mahendra Golchha passes away

Industrialist Mahendra Golchha has passed away at the age of 53 in Bangkok Tuesday. Golchha was suffering from lungs cancer. He is the son of Hulas Chand Golchha and a senior board member of Golchha organisation.

NOC hikes prices of petro-products; shortage continues

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has hiked the price of kerosene and deisel each by Rs 3 per litre with immediate from Tuesday. An NOC board meeting held Monday evening decided to hike the prices to synchronise it with the international market.
