The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered journalist Bikash Thapa be released on bail, Monday. Thapa was in judicial custody since past four months on charge of sexually explicit email to a colleague. A joint bench of justices Tahir Ali Ansari and Prakash Wasti ordered Thapa be released at a bail of Rs 25,000. Earlier, Kathmandu District Court and Patan Appellate Court had refused bail to Thapa. SC has concluded the district court and the appellate court's decision to deny bail was erroneous. Bikash Thapa is a senior journalist reporting in water resources.

Renowned cine-actor Bhuwan KC has joined CPN (UML) amid a function, Monday.   Actor KC took UML membership at a function organised on the occasion of the 24th establishment day of National People's Cultural Federation in the capital Monday.   UML senior leader and caretaker Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal welcomed KC to the party with vermillion powder and flowers.   Speaking at the programme, actor KC said, he had inclination towards the party since last few years.
