Eight inmates runaway from Kapilvastu jail

Eight inmates serving their jai-term in Kapilvastu prison have fled through an improvised tunnel, last night. They were serving sentences for various charges including  murder, rape, arms and ammunitions. Police were unaware throughout, when the inmates dug a tunnel 2.5 feet wide and 10 feet long. According to Kapilvastu prison, the fleeing inmates Ramjas Murabu, Prabhu Teli and Shrawan Kumar Maurya were serving terms for murder. Likewise, Kedar Sahani, School Miyan Ansari and Bagedo Musalman were serving terms on charge of arms and ammunition. Shanta Kumar Pasi and Santosh Kahar were serving terms for drug peddling. Some fleeing inmates are associated with various armed outfits active in Terai. The prison is housed in an old building built during the Rana regime. Seven inmates had fled from the same prison on August 8.
