Nepali Congress (NC) district conventions are taking place in over 54 districts across the country today.   Nine representatives elected from each VDC or Municipality vote to elect a district committee of the party. The president, secretary, treasurer and five executive committee members of the district committee will be elected by the representatives. The vice president and other executive members will be nominated by the elected district president.   District conventions have already been concluded in 17 districts, while in some districts the district conventions have been postponed due to controversies. 

At least three persons were and four others critically injured when an ambulance numbered carrying patients from Makaipur of Gorkha and going towards Pokhara met with an accident last night. The ambulance skidded off the road and fell more than 100 metres below the road in Kholkhole, Ward no. 8 of Gorkha Municipality, last night. Lila Bahadur Shrestha and Gopilal Shrestha of Ward no. 1 and Prem Lal Shrestha of Ward no. 6 of Bungkot VDC died in the accident.
