Maoist CA member Gaurishankar Khadka passes away

Constituent Assembly (CA) member and Unified CPN (Maoist)
Central Committee member, Gaurishankar Khadka, has passed away at the age of 51
in Lalitpur Monday morning.
Khadka died while undergoing treatment for cancer at B &
B Hospital, Gwarko this morning. He had been admitted to the hospital a few
days ago after his health condition worsened. Khadka had also been taken to New
Delhi for treatment.  

Born in 2016 BS, Khadka was elected CA member
representing the UCPN (Maoist) from Jhapa constituency – 2 under the First Past
The Post (FPTP) system. He is also the secretary of UCPN (Maoist)'s Kochila
state committee.
 
He was a member of the CA Committee for Determining the Base
of Cultural and Social Solidarity and the Legislature Assembly's International
Relations and Human Rights Committee.
 
UCPN (Maoist) has said, Khadka's body will be kept at the
party headquarters in Koteshwar from 11 am to 1 pm Monday for final tribute and
taken to Jhapa for cremation later today. Khadka is survived by his wife and a son.

Police ask for Red Light area in Kathmandu

Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu has recommended to the government to work out the necessary regulations and stipulate a Red Light Area in Kathmandu to curb sex related crimes.  Speaking at a press conference called to inform journalists of the the campaign Kathmandu police is launching to control sex related crime and illegal sexual activities in Kathmandu, Kathmandu police chief SP Ramesh Kharel said, illegal sexual activities and sex related crime would reduce a lot if a commercial sex was defined by some regulations and designated at some specific places.  Kharel also said, Kathmandu police had intensified operation against illegal sexual activities. It has keep some areas like Thamel, Sorhakhutte, Naya Buspark and Gongabu as hot areas and started keeping vigil in suspicious places.  Commercial sex is being operated in Kathmandu in the veil of massage parlours, dance and cabin restaurents, hotels and guest house and by taking an independent flat.
