MRP distribution starts

The government has commenced the distribution of Machine Readable Passports (MRP)s on Sunday.Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sujata Koirala embarked on the distribution officially by providing diplomatic MRPs to Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Constituent Assembly (CA) Chairman Subash Chandra Nembang, and Chief Justice Ram Prasad Shrestha amid a programme organised at the prime minister’s residence in the Capital today.
Similarly, MRP distribution to the public was started by providing the first ordinary MRP to CNN Hero of the Year 2010 Anuradha Koirala in the same programme.
President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Vice President Paramananda Jha will be provided with the diplomatic MRPs at their respective residences today, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) informed.
It is reported that the first 100 applicants will get the MRP today and the distribution to the public will be made at an increased rate in the upcoming days.
