NC turns down Maoist proposal to form separate force comprising of Maoist combatants
Nepali Congress (NC) has turned down the Unified CPN (Maoist) proposal to form a separate security force comprising of some personnels from Nepal Army, Nepal Police and the Maoists' People's Liberation Army.
A meeting of the NC central officials at acting president Sushil Koirala's residence in Maharajgunj Wednesday decided such proposal would not be acceptable to the party.
UCPN (Maoist) had put such proposal before NC leaders at a meeting yesterday.
The three parties have not been able to forge a consensus due to differences in the number of combatants to be integrated in the army.
