Alternative Trekking route in Rasuwa
Tamang Heritage Trail is an alternative trekking route in Rasuwa which offers trekkers a unique opportunity of learning about the Tamang culture while trekking. Although, trekking in the eastern parts of Rasuwa including the Langtang and Gosaikunda area was popular since many years, the western Rasuwa was relatively under shadow for many years.
It has many beautiful villages like Goljung, Gatlang, Chilime, Brimdang, Tatopani, Thuman and Timure. The government of Nepal has started a programme to promote this part of Rasuwa as a home-stay tourism destination. It has constructed lodges and hotels in these villages. The villagers have been trained for hospitality.
In Tatopani of Chilime, trekkers can enjoy a great hot water bath in the natural hot water spring flowing from the mountain. Up in Nagthali on the way to Thuman from Tatopani, trekkers can enjoy great views of the mountains with Langtang Lirung standing right in front of it.
Further ahead of Timure, there is Rasuwagadhi, the historic border town of Nepal and China.
