World Bank shows interest in investment in hydro-projects in Nepal

World Bank has shown interest in investing in Hydro-projects in Nepal. This is the first time the World Bank has shown interest in investing in hydro-projects in Nepal after pulling back from the Arun III in 1996. The World Bank had pulled back from the project in 1996 after the erstwhile deputy Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal wrote to the WB to stop the project.

This time, the WB has shown interest in investing in the 350 MW Upper Arun.
