Price of Kerosene, diesel hiked

Nepal Oil Corporation has hiked the prices of kerosene and deisel by Re.1 per litre each effective Thursday. With the price revision, the price of deisel and kerosene have reached Rs 57 per litre in Terai districts and Rs 59 per litre in hilly and mountainous districts.

A board meeting of NOC held Wednesday evening decided to hike the prices to mitigate its losses. NOC has claimed the shortage of deisel seen in the market will end with the price hike.

Police ask for Red Light area in Kathmandu

Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu has recommended to the government to work out the necessary regulations and stipulate a Red Light Area in Kathmandu to curb sex related crimes.  Speaking at a press conference called to inform journalists of the the campaign Kathmandu police is launching to control sex related crime and illegal sexual activities in Kathmandu, Kathmandu police chief SP Ramesh Kharel said, illegal sexual activities and sex related crime would reduce a lot if a commercial sex was defined by some regulations and designated at some specific places.  Kharel also said, Kathmandu police had intensified operation against illegal sexual activities. It has keep some areas like Thamel, Sorhakhutte, Naya Buspark and Gongabu as hot areas and started keeping vigil in suspicious places.  Commercial sex is being operated in Kathmandu in the veil of massage parlours, dance and cabin restaurents, hotels and guest house and by taking an independent flat.
