The revelation came after one of the women workers Renuka Tamang sent as house maid ran away from her employer's house citing excessive torture and came to the embassy for refuge.

Nepali embassy in Saudi Arabia has written to the foreign and labour ministries asking them to take action against the employees involved in issuing them permits.

The letter sent to the ministries mentions, we have found the workers were sent based on a collusion between the workers/agents and the employees. Please take strong action against every one involved in this.

According to existing foreign employment laws, the department should take permission from the embassy, labout atachee or the chamber of commerce while sending women workers to organised sector like hotels and hospitals. However, it was found the department did not take permission from any of the mentioned agencies while sending some 300 women workers to Saudi Arabia.

Tamang has been taking shelter in the embassy. She has lost mental composure. The foreign employment department had given her permission to work in a hospital. However, when she reached Saudi Arabia she was employed as a house maid instead of employing in a hospital.

Job track securities Pvt Ltd, in Basundhara had brought the demand letter for hospital workers. The embassy has also asked the foreign employment department to make available 35 00 Riyal for air ticket and treatment and 2500 Riyal as compensation to Tamang.
