Army integration tech committee's tenure extended by 3 months
The Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) has extended the tenure of its technical committee, its chief subsidiary committee, by three months.
An AISC meeting held Monday morning decided to extend the technical committee's tenure as many of its tasks had not completed yet. This is the second time the technical committee's tenure has been extended.
AISC met today after a long time. The tasks of this committee including discharge and rehabilitation of disqualified combatants from cantonments and integration of other combatants has not completed. While the procedure of discharging the combatants has just begun, nothing has progressed in the front of integration.
Meanwhile, Maoist representative to the technical committee Indra Jeet Rai has resigned as per the party instructions. The party had instructed Rai to step down accusing him of settling for a lower deal in discharging the disqualified combatants.
PLA deputy commander Chandra Prakash Khanal replaces him in the committee.
