US President Obama names Scott H DeLisi as envoy to Nepal

US President Barack Obama has named a former vice-counsel in US embassy in India and the chief of the embassy's political section in Sri Lanka as the new ambassador to Nepal. Scott H DeLisi, a career diplomat with 28 years experience in foreign affairs, will become the US ambassador to Nepal if the senate approves President Obama's nomination.

DeLisi has worked in influential positions in foreign affairs in the states as well as in US missions in various countries. He is currently working as the chief of human resources department for foriegn missions.

The position had fallen vacant after former US envoy to Nepal Nancy J Powell returned to the states to work as the director of the human resources department.
