Rajesh Hamal arrested for trying to con 10 million from former Princess Prerana Singh

Police have arrested one Rajesh Hamal and his girlfried Pratikshya Shah for trying to extort Rs 10 million from former Princess Prerana Singh by sending a mobile text message on Tuesday.

Police said, Rajesh Hamal (not to be confused with actor Rajesh Hamal), who was running a guest house in Gongabu got Prerana's mobile number from his girlfried Pratikshya and sent the threat messages. Pratikshya is Prerana's personal secretary.

Rajesh had sent text messages asking Prerana to sent Rs 10 million through her secretary Pratikshya. He also threatened Prerana that he would kill her husband and son if the money was not provided.

However, Prerana did not give the money, but tried to identify the person sending the message. After her husband Raj Bahadur Singh failed to identify the person, he informed the police.

Police arrested Deepak Hamal, the owner of the mobile number used for messaging. Deepak told police, his cousin Rajesh was using the number although it was registered in his name.

Police arrested Rajesh based on the description provided by Deepak. a case of kidnapping and extortion is being filed against Rajesh and his girlfriend Pratikshya.

Interestingly, the mobile number used for text messaging was one of those provided by the service provider Mero Mobile, which was partly owned by Prerana's husband Raj Bahadur Singh previously.

Ironically, Raj Bahadur could not get the name of the owner using the number from the company he himself sold.
