Blocked Prithvi Highway resumes

Prithvi Highway, that had been blocked since last night due a landslide in Jawang Khola of the highway, has been opened after the landslide was cleared.

Thousands of passengers coming to and going from Kathmandu had been stranded on the highway due to the landslide.

The landslide occured due to incessant rain since yesterday. Its raining in and around Kathmandu continuously.

In the mid and far west, more than 40 people have already lost their lives and thousands have been displaced due to landslides and floods.

The Department of Metrology has said, monsoon will continue to be active for the next few days. So, it is likely that the rain will continue for a day or two.
