Nepal President appoints envoys to US, UN
President Ram Baran Yadav has appointed Shankar Sharma as the Nepali ambassador to the United States and Gyan Chandra Acharya as Nepal’s permanent representative to the United Nations on Sunday as per the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
The cabinet meetings on August 3 and September 4 had recommended the names of Sharma and Acharya, respectively. Later, the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee had approved their names.
Sharma is a former vice chairman of National Planning Commission and Acharya is secretary at the foreign ministry.
