Cabinet earmarks 2 billion for combatants

The Cabinet of Ministers has earmarked Rs 2 billion for former combatants choosing voluntary retirement.



A cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Tuesday morning earmarked the amount to be used for golden handshake to the retiring combatants.



The Army Integration Special Committee had decided to provide a sum of Rs 0.5 million to combatants opting voluntary retirement.



The government earmarked the money given by China during the recent visit of Chinese premiere Wen Jiabao for the combatants.
