PM Nepal intensifies meetings

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has intensified consultations to end the political deadlock, Friday. The ultimatum given by the Maoists to address their demands ends today. PM Nepal met with President Ram Baran Yadav at Shital Niwas this morning and UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' at his private residence in Koteshwar. The contents of the discussions is not known yet.

Police raided various Guest Houses in Banepa and arrested 26 persons while having sex or in sex-oriented positions, reports say. Five couples were arrested from Chandika, Chandeshwari, Valley and Welcome Guest House of Banepa while having sex. Likewise, seven girls were arrested from Shiva Guest House, Dhaneshwar and three boys and six girls were arrested from Phoolbari Restaurent. The arrested are in the age group of 18 to 26. Likewise, in a worse case, few weeks ago, even married couples were arrested from some hotels in Pokhara.

Police ask for Red Light area in Kathmandu

Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu has recommended to the government to work out the necessary regulations and stipulate a Red Light Area in Kathmandu to curb sex related crimes.  Speaking at a press conference called to inform journalists of the the campaign Kathmandu police is launching to control sex related crime and illegal sexual activities in Kathmandu, Kathmandu police chief SP Ramesh Kharel said, illegal sexual activities and sex related crime would reduce a lot if a commercial sex was defined by some regulations and designated at some specific places.  Kharel also said, Kathmandu police had intensified operation against illegal sexual activities. It has keep some areas like Thamel, Sorhakhutte, Naya Buspark and Gongabu as hot areas and started keeping vigil in suspicious places.  Commercial sex is being operated in Kathmandu in the veil of massage parlours, dance and cabin restaurents, hotels and guest house and by taking an independent flat.
