Maoist chairman Prachanda meets NC president Koirala in Singapore

Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal, aka Prachanda, called on Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala at a hospital in Singapore, Tuesday afternoon. Prachanda had suddenly left Kathmandu for Singapore, where NC president Koirala is undergoing treatment.

At the meeting, Prachanda and Koirala agreed to form a high-level political mechanism and address the current problems through it, according to Koirala's daughter Sujata Koirala who has accompanied her father to Singapore.

Girija Babu said the solution to all present problems are in forming the high-level political mechanism comprising of all major poliitical parties. I will find a way out, lets form the mechanism first, Sujata quoted her father as saying.

Sujata Koirala also informed GP Koirala was recuperating and would return home on Sunday. Prachanda is returning on Wednesday.

Prachanda had gone to Singapore with his aide Samir Dahal and international department incharge of his party Krishna Bahadur Mahara. Although, Prachanda told journalists at the airport, he was going to Singapore for party functions, the party has clarified it has no programmes in Singapore.

Koirala was taken to Singapore on Saturday.
