Rain causes havoc in far west; over a dozen killed

Torrential rain since past three days has caused havoc in far western districts leaving at least 13 dead, several others injured and property worth millions damaged.

12 persons of two families were killed when a landslide swept away their houses Tuesday morning. Families of Dambhar Bhool and Hema Bhool have been killed.

Five other houses are at a risk of being washed away as mudslide from the hill has still not stopped.
Other landslides due to the rain have obstructed KI Singh, Bhim Dutta and Dasrath Chand highways in the far west.

A six-year-old child Purna Bista has been killed in a separate landslide in Dipayal. The rising water level in Seti has put the bridge over the river and the town at a risk of inundation.

Acres of paddy fields have been washed away by the floods caused by the rain.
