Maoists decide to strive for consensus

The Unified CPN (Maoist), which has been agitating against the President’s move to block the erstwhile government’s decision to dismiss former army chief Rookmangud Katawal, has decided to strive for a consensus to end the current political deadlock till the last moment.

The party’s standing committee met at its headquarters, Koteshwar Tuesday morning and decided to adopt utmost flexibility for consensus among the three parties, Maoists, Nepali Congress and UML on ending the impasse’.


Earlier, the Maoist leaders had been saying they would resort to vigorous agitation if a consensus was not found till after Tihar.

The meeting also reviewed the achievements of China visit of party president Pushpa Kamal Dahal, vice president Mohan Baidhya and international department in charge Krishna Bahadur Mahara.
 
Maoist chairman Dahal had claimed a consensus would be found prior to today’s reception before leaving for China, last week.
